Loan-word  Letters and Other Frustrating Things

The six "gereshed" letters: There are certain consonants that do not appear in modern Hebrew. Modern Hebrew adapts to this problem when transliterating words from Arabic, Russian, English and other languages with the use of the geresh mark.  This  mark provides sounds for th, ch, zh, w, and j in modern Hebrew
